YGAM are delighted to be working with Ofqual approved Awarding Body Pearson (formally Edexcel) to further strengthen the educational rigour and quality-assurance of our education resources, through the participation of the Pearson Assured (formerly Edexcel Assured) independent quality-assured benchmark programme.

YGAM currently has almost 100 educational resources, which are already quality-assured by the PSHE Association and accredited by ASDAN. By working with Pearson, who are a globally recognised awarding body and the largest education company in the UK, we feel their expertise would bring additional quality-assurance aspects to our resources and add considerable value to the YGAM product. In addition, practitioners who participate in our training would have the option to receive either a Pearson or ASDAN certificate on competition, creating greater choice and flexibility for practitioners.

In addition, YGAM are also working with Pearson to develop a suite of Pearson qualifications, initially at Level 2, around minimising gambling-related harm. These will be the first set of formal qualifications in this area in the UK.

A spokesperson from Pearson said ‘We looking forward to working with YGAM to support them in their journey to become an Approved Centre and develop a well-timed set of qualifications around minimising gambling-related harm’.

Lee Willows, Chief Executive of YGAM said ‘Pearson are the largest education company and book publisher in the world. As the leading global awarding body for educational qualifications, we are very much looking forward to working with the team to further deepen the educational rigor of our training resources. In addition, we will explore new markets where our training around minimising gambling-related harm can be applied, further expending the reach and social impact of YGAM’.
