London, 27 June 2025: Ygam has announced the appointment of two new trustees, bringing a wealth of experience and expertise to its board and reaffirming its continued commitment to exceptional governance.

Alice Talbot joins the Ygam Board, bringing with her a strong track record of influencing decision-makers and driving change at both policy and practice levels to improve the lives of vulnerable children and their families. She is a specialist in children’s social care, with in-depth knowledge of children’s wellbeing, safeguarding, and supporting parents.

Her background in child protection social work, combined with senior-level communications experience, gives her a unique and well-rounded perspective. Alice is currently Director of Strategy and Policy at the Consortium of Voluntary Adoption Agencies (CVAA), a membership body for adoption charities. Prior to this she led national investigations for the Children’s Commissioner for England, elevating the voices of some of the most vulnerable children in society through her reports.

Dr Jane Rigbye joins the board after stepping down as Chief Executive Officer of Ygam in June, following three and a half years in the role. Jane is a Chartered Psychologist and Fellow of the Royal Society for Public Health, with nearly two decades of experience working in the professional field of gambling harms. During her tenure at Ygam, she played a pivotal role in developing and delivering the organisation’s strategy, helping to establish Ygam as a sector leader. Jane is now Chief Executive Officer of the Shannon Trust, a charity dedicated to improving literacy and numeracy among individuals in prisons.

Mike Wocik, Chair of Ygam, said: We are thrilled to further strengthen our board with two outstanding trustees who bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise. Alice brings invaluable skills and insights, while we’re delighted that Jane will continue to support Ygam in her new capacity. Exceptional governance demands both talent and deep expertise—qualities these appointments bring, inspiring confidence as we embark on Ygam’s next exciting chapter.”

Alice Talbot, said: “Ygam has a unique mission which I’m proud to now be part of. Gaming and gambling are fast-evolving features of everyone’s lives, especially children and young people – and as a parent or professional it can be hard to keep up. I’m excited to contribute my expertise to Ygam’s already progressive work and help it continue to grow and innovate in response to these defining issues of our time.

Dr Jane Rigbye said: “I’m honoured to continue my involvement with Ygam and support its important mission in this new role. I look forward to working alongside the incredible and hardworking staff team as they deliver our objectives to the highest standards. With many opportunities and challenges ahead, I’m energised to play my part in helping Ygam be the best at what it does and make a lasting impact in the years to come.”

The latest NCVO governance review described Ygam as having ‘a high-performing and highly competent board’.
