The Talent Match Mark is an award that celebrates organisations supporting young people through their journey of work. The award recognises organisations providing support through pre-employment to thousands of young people. Talent Match Mark provides tools and support to organisations, helping them maximise the potential of young people.

The Talent Match Mark award levels are based on three different criteria, explore, experience and employment. Explore is about having short interventions, taster days, world of work visits. Experience is allowing young people to enter the work place by giving young people work experience or traineeships for the duration of two – six weeks. Employment acknowledges organisations employing young people, through apprenticeships and graduate roles.

YGAM is delighted to be awarded bronze, acknowledging employment of young people. Four of our employees were recruited from universities and colleges and work with YGAM alongside their studies. The employment we offer is through our peer education project, which promotes YGAM’s social mission to educate, inform and safeguard young people around gambling related harm. This employment opportunity is a great for young people, as the students work independently and develop their own project and skills but continuously have support from their line manager. Our employees are able to run their own awareness campaigns, connect with local organisations working with young people, and learn to write fundraising bids. This gives our employees a wide variety of skills that will contribute to their development and employability in the future.

YGAM does not plan to stop at the bronze award, and wants to continuously develop our opportunities for young people. Within the next six months we will be applying for the silver award at Talent Match, and working with them to achieve what’s necessary to reach this through offering work experience opportunities to further graduates.
